Dr. Mark Ross attended the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario, graduating in 2009 with his B.Sc (Hons) and his OD (Doctor of Optometry).

Dr. Ross has a great love of travel. As a teenager, Dr. Ross traveled alone to France and Thailand, and spent a year on a Rotary Exchange to Spain. Dr. Ross has also traveled to Peru, Ecuador and the Galapagos, Turkey, Egypt, and Tanzania. While in Tanzania Dr. Ross climbed and summited Mount Kilimanjaro.

Dr. Ross has also participated in eye care mission trips, traveling to Zihuatanejo, Mexico; Blantyre, Malawi; Chiapas de Corzo, Mexico; and Ghana.

After graduating in 2009, Dr. Ross moved to Calgary. He was new to the community and did not have any connections in the city. Over time he found work and began to build a life in Calgary. He lives in Cliff Bungalow and loves being part of this vibrant community. Since moving to Calgary, he has worked in a variety of clinics throughout the city and established a broad patient base.

Dr. Ross has been heavily involved in the Calgary community since moving here. He sings with the Calgary Philharmonic Chorus and Spiritus Chamber Choir, is a youth leader with Friends Church and enjoys dragon boating on the Glenmore reservoir as well as softball with the CSSC. After the 2013 flood Dr. Ross spent several days helping to clean out homes in the affected areas. Dr. Ross also is a director on the Alberta College of Optometrists board.

Dr. Ross is now excited about opening his own clinic in the Beltline to better serve the people with whom Dr. Ross shares this exciting and dynamic neighbourhood.
